dd had inflamed tonsils a few weeks ago, then since thurs/fri she has had really high temperatures & says she has a sore throat. dh has just taken her to the out of hours (she started to throw up this morning) they have said her tonsils are really badly inflamed again.
just wondered if anyone's lo's have had their tonsils out, as the doctor said if it keeps reoccuring she may have to have them removed.

Does she suffer a lot with tonsilitis?
My DS used to get frequent bouts of it & be really poorly, from the age of 2 until he was 4.5 years old.
I kept going back to the doctors, but they seemed reluctant to remove his tonsils, saying he would be more prone to chest infections if his tonsils were removed.
I eventually (through pushing) got him on the waiting list before he started school, but he has now been removed from the list as he hasn't suffered from the infection for nearly 2 years now (he used to have a good 3 attacks of it a year), so we are keeping our fingers crossed that he stays healthy without having to gp through the op.
I had my tonsils out when I was 10 & now rarely suffer with sore throats & can only remember having one chest infection & that was as an adult!

My dd suffered with tonsilitis, enough wa enough and the GP said about having her tonsils removed. To be honest the best thing for her.
