Nasty cold/flu thing, odd glands in back of neck/head?

I have had this horrid cold (i would call it flu) for over a week, each day i feel worse (keep thinking i will wake up feeling better), my symptoms are:

High temp (not constantly high though)
Sinisitus (sp)
Slight cough
slight ear ache
sore throat
Sweating at night
Stiff joints
Feeling exhausted and fluey
And these odd glands, one in the back of neck (almost on the back of my head) as well as the usual glands by my jaw, behind my ears etc..

Does it just sound like a bad cold? i often get colds this time of year but have not felt this ill in ages and i am usualy feeling better by now (not worse).

I'm going to bed by 8pm as i'm so tired, have been in bed all morning and still feel as though i have had no sleep.

I had exactly the same thing about a month ago...horrible. Usually colds just make me have a sore throat and runny nose but otherwise I just get on with it; this one flattened me and sent me to bed. I felt really weird - totally spaced out, almost like I was drunk...very odd, never had anything like it before.

My glands were huge, like yours, and I was totally knackered throughout. My Mum had it at the same time as me as was every bit as bad, and she usually takes stuff like this in her stride.

Some bloody horrible bugs going round this year! Hope you feel better soon...lots of fluids and vitamins is my advice.

Yes I have exactly as you have described for about two or three weeks. Just seems to go then comes back!
