I know this sounds strange, but for the past few months, I have insomnia a few days before My period is due. I am not on any medication, nothing has changed in My life, it's really weird, has anyone else had this?

I think its to do with hormone levels affecting your temperature and metabolism during the night. Not sure what the solution is though.

aunitie I did think that myself, hormones tend to play havoc in my life Smile

I have this too. I can usually get to sleep ok but I sleep restlessly and often wake up at some silly time in the morning and can't get back to sleep just before my period and often on the first few days of my period. Drives me nuts.

Walnutcakelover · 22/11/2012 11:45

rambling that is like Me, I get to sleep ok, but then wake up around 3 o'clock and can't get back to sleep, the night is usually very restless, I'm too cold to come downstairs.

yes, I get this. fall asleep fine, wake up at 3 and only get back off to sleep around 5am, not very helpful given I have to get up by 5.30. Hate it and it's definitely a thing that I have only experienced in my mid 30's.....sigh....

I think I had it when I was younger too but then it was more during the heavy days of my period and I think it was more about leaking in the night or the fear of leaking in the night keeping me awake.

Oh, I also find I need to wee a lot more just before and during my period so I think part of it is to do with waking up with a full bladder.

I have never had this before, only happened a few months ago, I usually sleep like a log.

Happens to me regularly as clockwork, every month, about three days before my period.
