my sil was rushed into to hospital to day she has had a disc problem for a few weeks but yesturday and today she lost feeling when going to toilet,so they rushed her into hospital this afternoon and she has just found out that they are operating tonight, from what i can gather they are replacing the disc. As she has two very young boys the biggest concern is her recovery time she will be in hospital for at least five days after the op but what i would like to know has anyone been through the same op or know anyone that has, what is the rough recovery time? how long will it take(roughly) for her to be able to do any thing etc etc any advice would really be appreciated

my dh had a prolapsed disc 4 years ago and had surgery. He was told to lay flat in bed when he got home, but I don;t remember how long forBlush. I do remember him not carrying out the excercises that he was given which resulted in him having what they called a shift, meaning when he stood up he leaned slightly to one side. He had hydrotherapy which helped with that, and aided his full recovery.
