Quick antibiotics question - anyone know?

Dd (14 months) is on a week long course of antibiotics and today she's had the most horrific nappies and nappy rash. Do I recall correctly that antibiotics can effect children in this way or has she picked up yet another bug?

I would guess it's from the antibiotics. Bad luck Sad

Thank you jalopy - why do they get everything at once?! Extra strength nappies for tonight me thinks Grin

acidophulus powder from health food stores helps to fix the effects of antibiotics and restores the guts helthy bacteria :)

Thank you piffle, if explosive nappies continue I will be on the look out for that!

the nappy rash could possibly be (or develop into thrush) its not an uncommon side effect of ab's keep a wee eye on it.
hope its better soon!

Thanks CM, hadn't thought about that at all but will keep a close eye on a couple of very sore spots.
