Chicken Pox

Feeling a bit dozy but am not sure whether DD has chicken pox or not.
She got a few spots last night, maybe about 25 in all, on her face, chest, back and the back of her neck. All the places chicken pox are supposed to be, but they're just little red dots, I thought chicken pox blistered?
She is itching, or trying to at a couple on her back but seems unbothered about most of them, is perfectly well and has no temp??
I thought it was heat spots when I saw the first few, thats what they look like.
Any ideas? Is it chicken pox?

doesn't sound like chicken pox.
CP spots are bigger than heat spots, and have blisters

Thanks starlover, thats what I thought, have just had another check over and there's still no new spots, but they arn't as small as heat spots, had that wrong in my head Blush
Still no blisters though, I don't want to take her to the dr's for nothing and she is perfectly well apart from these spots.

i'd just keep an eye on her tbh... in case they grow/blister or anything.

Airy. I posted on the other CPox thread about my dd she has about a dozen in a cluster on her back they came about 5 days ago over two days. She was really whingey about two weeks ago not herself at all They have very small heads on that are now a little crusty. Apparently you can have as few as 10 or as many as 1000 it depends how badly you get the virus so I'm going to assume it is CPx until proven otherwise Smile at least that way I feel better about it.

My 14 month old ds has just had exactly what you describe. A cluster of spots in the nappy area, a few on his back and the back of his neck, some on the scalp too, and half a dozen or so on his face. I was sure it was chicken pox but then it seemed to move on so quickly and the spots didn;t really blister as they had with my other kids.

Like you redstarfalling I'm asuming it was CP. The spots have all crusted over, but now he has a temperature and appears very unwell. I reckon this is something unrelated as my understanding is that the rash is the last thing to appear.

It's a bit puzzling though. I was going to start a thread just like this one so any more views would be interesting.

if you aren't sure if it's CP or not i'd pop down to the GP and see what they think.

ds's was obviously CP, no mistaking it... biggish spots with a blister on top which gradually dried and scabbed.
