I am on Microgynon and finnished my pack yesterday so should now be on my 7 day break.

Thing is, I am supposed to be going out at the weekend and would probably still be on then, plus I still get awful stomach cramps, bloating etc, so i was thinking of just starting the next pach straight away.

Is ti ok to do that ?

Yep that is fine to do. I've done it lots of times!!

SoupDragon · 03/04/2006 11:58

Course it is. I used to do this all the time when a period would have been inconvenient.

Chapsmum · 03/04/2006 11:58

there are no problems with doing that, that I can think of. Have done it myself when af should have been due whilst i was on holiday.

hulababy · 03/04/2006 12:00

No problems with doing this. I have done it loads, and on same brand. Mind you, seeing as recently I have no AF at all with these pills it'd make no difference!

Most health professionals tri-cycle the pill, or so I've been told by three different female gps, a nurse on NHS direct and a few midwives. In other words they take three packets one after the other, and then have a break just to double check they aren't pg. The bleed you get when you take a break isn't a proper period. They were apparently designed with the break and bleed because the (male) doctors thought women would feel uncomfortable not having a period.

Spanners, the lot of them.

Now I'm back on the pill I'm only to take a break every three months too.
