BTW, I'm not syaing you've got diabetes, just maybe worth getting it checked esp. if you have any other symptoms such as increased thirst, going to the loo all the time – especially at night, extreme tiredness, genital itching or regular episodes of thrush, slow healing of wounds (that list was from Diabetes UK website BTW).

oh what a great help..

I think I shall drag myself off for a test at the gp, I've been thinking about it for about a year but more so the last few months..my tongue keeps sticking to the roof of my mouth when I'm sleeping amongst other things

lol, yes it sounds like it could be diabetes. Sorry. Still, there are lots of diabetics on here to turn to for advice if it is! Let us know.

Zippi, I worried for the same reason, I thought an optician would look into my eyes and say 'omg, you've got xyz disease!' They didn't, they told me I need glasses. So I have them, with Prada frames, much nicer than I thought they'd be and now I can mn or work all day at a screen and it's fine! Go, it won't be as bad as you think. Vision Express were excellent, good service, very quick and efficient. The worst that can happen is they say you need glasses and you're diabetic if they do, you CAN deal with it and it's better that you know than that you DON'T know. You'll be relieved once it's done, bet you.

www that's reassuring (that I'm not alone in my madness!)

just realised that I've done that thing where you ask the wrong question! I should have said I was asking for a "friend"
