I have had trapped wind since 5pm Thursday. Last night I thought it must be appendicitis cos' it's so painful. But looked that up and the pain is supposed to be on right side, this is all over and I look pregnant. I have tried, charcoal, walking, windeze, milk of magnesia & ginger tea. Has anyone got any magic ways of making this go, I am having a really really miserable weekend and am in terrible pain.

This pain could be as a result of gall stones.

UCM · 25/03/2006 16:02

I do keep breaking wind and I am ok if I sit still. I can hear it rumbling around in my guts. If I am still in Ag tomorrow I think A&E will be my next stop.

peppermint oil/pepermint tea is a natural anti spazmodic, that might help. Colperman is avaliable OTC and is great. Failing that I would be making an appt to see your dr.

I know it sounds backwards but have you tried dring a really fizzy drink? This helps me if I get trapped wind.

Kidstrack2 · 25/03/2006 16:20

i had this in hospital after an operation 3weeks ago and it was hell absolutely agony, they gave me peppermint oil and then finally an injection! I couldn't eat for 2 days! Hope you feel well soon UCM also had my appendix out when i was young and the pain was round my belly button and i couldn't walk far because of the pain.

BadHair · 25/03/2006 16:22

Try a hot drink followed by a cold drink to make your intestines spasm. Works for dh but tbh it doesn't do anything for me.

Kidstrack2 · 25/03/2006 16:27

the injection i had was called buscopan?(sp)

jellyjelly · 25/03/2006 21:24

When i had my section i had trapped wind and it was so painful, it was in my shoulder. I tried windeez nothing seemed to walk then tried warm water and it worked a treat.

jellyjelly · 25/03/2006 21:25

I also got my dp to hit me lots on the back from the bottom to the top then left to right loads and that helped too.

If you get stuck again, I find that for pain like this lying on your stomach helps.

Does the pain go away if you put alot of pressure on the area? If so you may have kidney stones or a kidney infection. I had this many years ago, ended up in casualty and 5 nights in hospital. Let us know how you are.

UCM · 27/03/2006 08:23

I am still in pain, not as bad though, thanks for replies, I am going to have to see the dreaded doctor (this is the one who has a list of all the little boys & girls who have not had the MMR and wont come out to them when they are sick). The pain is still ferocious when pressed. I did go to work last night though.
