my eardrum ruptured on thurs night, have been given antibiotics and can only take paracetamol (am in 3rd trimester) the pain has mostly gone but i've still got loads of pus coming out and have lost my hearing on that side. does anyone know how long it takes to heal and whether my hearing will be o.k? plus any other advice Please

Took me about a month to get my hearing back. Big sympathies, it is horribly painful.

It took me six months as a small child to regain proper hearing, but I think mine was particularly bad.... it's awful isn't it Sad hope it gets better super fast

Mine took at least a month to finally clear up, and my hearing has been affected very slightly although I can only tell when I'm on the phone. The pus was terrible, I used to go round with cotton wool stuffed in my ears and the smell was something else. TBH I should have gone back to the doctors as the Ist course of antibiotics didn't clear it at all.

my ex-h ruptured his when he slipped on some ice whilst going into work. he also fractured his skull.

it was about 6 months before he could hear properly out of that ear. he said it felt like it was stuffed w/cotton wool.
