mirena bleeding help reqd

had the mirena put in when still bf and stopeed bf about two months ago

had a trickle of blood for a week post insertions and then nothing. Now have had a period (grrrrrrrrr) and the odd streak.

Is tis my body reacting to the coil delayed because of the bf? will I lose periods (please please)?

anyone know?

I think that only 1/5 actually stop having periods all together. So you are more likely than not to have them.

Sorry...though they may change again as your hormones continue to settle down.

I've had the mirena in for about 18 months and had intermittent spotting for the first six months then nothing at all which has been bliss.
However I still get PMT......

Your bleeding may be erratic for a few months to come. You will probably still have periods but they will be a lot lighter than they were.

I asked my OB/Gyn this at my last check up as mine vary from nothing to a bit of bleeding for a week or so. Apparently it is perfectly normal not to settle into a consistent pattern which is irritating. Having said that it is an improvement on my previous experience and I didn't really get to the point of minimal bleeding for a several cycles (perhaps 6) after fitting (I was also b/feeding).

Right what I mean is am i experiencing the psot insertion bleeding delayed because of the bf?
