Nervous hyperactivity in a toddler - homeopathic treatment? Any other suggestions?

DH has gone away to the US for 3 weeks and DD is coping pretty well but she's become a hyperactive maniac some of the time. Whenevert he phone rimgs she is like a banshee singing, screeching, shouting, leaping etc, especially if its her dad. I htink she's trying to make up for not seeing him. Shes like it whenever anyone visits too and she leaps on them like a klingon and is really wild.

My mum suggested a homeopathic remedy she uses called Aconite which is to help nervous, panic attacks etc. Has anyone used it with children? Is anyone into homeopathy? Does anyone have anyother suggestions?

It really does seem to a a nervous thing, perhaps in a few days she'll calm down but she's on big highs and big lowa right now and I want to see if I can help her though it somehow.

Aconite is recommended for general stress & anxiety and for panic attackes (as opposed to anxiety before an event, stage fright, stress from overwork etc - different remedies for different types of stress). Ignatia is sometimes used for anxiety from loss or separation especially if the person is tearful or emotional.

The thing to remember about homeopathy is that different people may need different remedies for the same problem depending on the exact symptoms as well as their own temperment and physical makeup. So what works for your mum may or may not be exactly the right remedy for your dd.

Homeopathy is completely safe, including for children, so you won't do any harm, but if you want to be sure of getting the best remedy for her you could consider consulting a homeopath.
