Bloody hell, How did you get that?

TearsBeforeBedtime · 21/03/2006 10:00

bl**dy hell Spacey! poor you. Is there no way you could twist DD1s arm to watch the kids at home this evening? Not ideal of course, but better than them all spending the evening at the hospital?

TearsBeforeBedtime · 21/03/2006 10:00

ROFL that both mine and Cori's first instinctive response was "bl**dy hell"(!)

JackieNo · 21/03/2006 10:01

you could understand it more if you'ld actually had a chance to completely rest up with the pneumonia but it's not as if you've had the chance to have a few weeks in bed all day (my gran got a PE after being laid up with septicaemia)

spacecadet · 21/03/2006 10:18

no chance of me staying still!

OP posts:
Chapsmum · 21/03/2006 10:19

let's keep this bumped and see if anyone can help

pebblemum · 21/03/2006 10:23

Poor you. Sounds like you caught it nice and early though. My mum had this when I was 5 and she had been to the doctors about a severe pain in her leg, swellings etc several times but they put it down to pulling a muscle Shock. In the end mum was so bad dad had to call the emergency doc out and he had her rushed into hospital that night. She was lucky she went in when she did or it could have been a lot worse. Luckily there has been a lot of coverage about DVT over the years so more people realise they have it a lot quicker.

Hope you are soon feeling better, it must be harder for you than mum as my sister was 20 and married at the time so she looked after me while mum was in hospital. Hope you get all the love and support you need. {{{{hugs}}}

spacecadet · 21/03/2006 10:24

thanks pebblemum, i knew wha it was as ive had one before(and im a nurse!)

bump

gomez · 21/03/2006 10:48

Is there no District Nurse who could help out? Call your GP and see if they can offer a solution.

Hope the injections clear it up for you.

trace2 · 21/03/2006 10:52

glad they got it early, i had one didnt know until i bit broke off and got in my lung, they said a few hours more am i would have been died

threelittlebabies · 21/03/2006 11:00

Oh no spacey, you poor thing Sad

Agree, could a district nurse or out of hrs gp (ha!) do the injections at home? v unreasonable to have to drag kids out at that hour. Wonder if you would get any help from homestart- for this and in general? Hope you feel better soon xxx

spacecadet · 21/03/2006 11:03

we dont have an out of hours service provided by our gp, we have an out of hours service provided by the hospital, so you have to travel there anyway!

OP posts:
spacecadet · 21/03/2006 11:04

trace2, i had a pe after dd2 was born, very frightening.

OP posts:
threelittlebabies · 21/03/2006 11:32

Oh poo. I suspected as much though (hence the ha!) as our gp has abdicated all out of hrs service to a general clinic, which you have to go to, or to a&e. Couldn't even get them to come out to me one week after section with midwife ringing them during surgery hrs!! ShockRun out of suggestions, sorry. Wish I could help, but am miles away Sad
