Has anyone had this and had surgery to remove it? if so, how was the recovery? Painful? quick?

TIA

Yes I have a bone spur on top of my foot. It used to be very tender and the skin over it would swell. I was supposed to be having surgery but we moved to a different area so I couldn't have the operation. Many years later I still have the lump but it no longer swells or feels tender so I'm pleased I didn't have the surgery.

That doesn't really answer your question! Is it painful? If it's not bothering you too much I would be tempted to wait and see if it improves.

Thanks Marrow. I have had it a long time and it flares up and down depending on how often i go to the gym - the laces tighten over the spur. Other shoes can be difficult to wear too. i have tried padding the area but the nerve is affected and can be quite painful. Not all the time though and at the moment, it is ok. Its just that we are in the US for work and all medical stuff is covered so thought I would take advantage of it whilst we are here - it will probably have to be done at some point anyway. Not sure if I'm trying to convince you or me! Will think about it - have until mid Oct.
