How old is he?

JennyLee · 20/03/2006 09:36

get some zovirax frm the chemist but mention the age of ds, he might feel a bit uwell if this is the first one he has ever had in his life, my ds got fever and unwellness when he got it for the first time, caught it off another little boy who was allowed out to play covered in the damn things all over his face!! I was very angry as once they have the virus in them it recurs every so often for the rest of their lives. tell him not to touch it as it can spread to other areas and if you touch it wash your hands and use separate things to wash his face. Look it up online too so you understand what it is, is a virus.

I have suffered with cold sores since I was a child, my mum and all my sisters get them, my big fear is that my dd will get them too however I have learned to control mine and its with zovirax (its a miracle in a tube as far as i'm concerned)and I make sure never to kiss her Sad when i have one and wash my hands about a zillion times a day, its such a shame when children have them coz they don't know not to touch and if you tell them not to well its like a green light to them and they do!

Yeah I know what you mean, about telling kids not to touch. I have now bought some zovirax and so far it seems to be abit better. But i think it is getting my ds down, how it started i think was, he had a cold about 2wks ago and what with the cold windy weather we have lately, over the weekend i noticed his lip was looking more and more sore and weepy. Thanks for the advice :)

If you see them touch say "hands on head" in a sing song voice. It works much better than don't touch, because it gives them something else to focus on.

Nobody think about pink elephants - oh, you all did.

poor boy. horrible things cold sores. i use zovirax also, it stops the tingling but i still end up with a huge swollen lip and want to wear a paper bag over my head for 10 days till its totally gone
