Hi, I am really keen to hear from anyone who suffers from hypertension. Mine was well controlled in pregnancy, but I'm now told that I can't use the same medicine I used in pregnancy. The new meds are not great and it's taking forever for my bp to go back to normal. I am now on nifedipine and atenolol....is this really ok in breast feeding? It just doesnt appear to be doing the job fast enough....I'd be grateful to hear from others on their experiences...

I breast fed my dd until she was 18 months while taking Atenolol, she is now a healthy 8 year old.

And I took nifedipine after both pregnancies - I had high BP immediately after labour, for about 6-8 weeks each time. Breast fed both dds, both absolutely fine Smile
