hello. Just a daft query! dh and i had sex a few days ago and at one point the condom came off. It was just for a few seconds. I feel realy funny this morning and have terrible heartburn (but i ate 6 pickled onions yesterday evening-not joking, i think it might be that). Anyway, i had my period two weeks ago and was just wondering, do i have to wait till i'm due to do a pregnancy test and how likely could it be? Thanks in advance if you answer

My goodness we seem to have a flurry of Mumsnetters who 'might' be pregnant!

I tested positive 6 day before my period was due with the Boots own test. It was about 10 days after we had had sex. I know its unusual to get a positive that early so they are debating my dates (8wks or 10 wks??).

But it's not impossible. I definitely think the heartburn is caused by the pickled onions though!

When is your period due??

i'd say about two weeks but i really want to know now I have a test in the house but surely would be too soon!!

Common sense as always Twiglet!

I know me and I KNOW that I would do the test anyway..... even if I knew it would be negative, but I'm like a child with a bag of goodies when it comes to pregnancy tests..... I just can't help myself!

Twiglet is right though.... it is too early.

If you try again on Hogmanay then you have a better chance of getting a positive. Then at least you will know whether you can enjoy a good drink or not!

Incidentally - When I did my test 6 days before my period it was negative so I threw it in the bin. I checked it half an hour later and there was a faint line.

no still negative

i will try again at New Year, i'm sure i wont be really as it was hardly time when the condom was off! We'll see

nameless, from the tone of your message i think you must be hoping for a positive test. good luck.

just a reminder for anyone else who has a condom failure (or any other unprotected sex for that matter) and who doesn't want to become pregnant, the morning after pill is effective up to 72 hrs later.
