Hi,I'm 13 weeks pg and have been suffering with horrible sickness and migraines on and off since I got pg. Yesterday, I had a horrid really intense migraine. It started with an aura from the left eye, then manifested in the right side of my head,.which is normal for me, but about an hour in my left hand and wrist and the left hand side of.my face went all pins and needles-y then totally numb...it lasted for about 20/30, minds then gradually the feeling came back. Can this happen with migraines, or should I be concerned? It freaked me out quite a bit!

TIA

I think you should see a doctor to be on the safe side, in case it is neither migraine nor pregnancy related.

Does this resemble your experience?

Not PG but this happens whenever I have a migraine. Numb left hand. Frightening the first time. Sad As you are PG I would make an appointment with GP and make them aware.

Thank you both for replying .

Quint- I don't think my face dropped or speech slurred, but thank you for, making me aware...I think sometimes I just put it all down tip being pg!

Sparkling, it's nice to hear that it can be a normal part of a migraine.

I will book a GP apt on Monday.

I have had that, both when pg and not pg. It's really frightening. I think it can be quite common in Migraine but as others have said, you should definitely get it checked out. Hopefully your Migraines will pass as your pg progresses.

It sounds like an aura migraine, I've just started getting them since my 2nd pregnancy. For me they start with a blind spot, a zig-zag pattern that I can see out of the corner of my eye and then numbness usually starting in the tips of my fingers on one hand and gradually moving up my hand and arm. I haven't seen a doctor about them yet but I think it's probably a good idea to. They're different to regular migraines for me as accompanied with just a mild headache where usually I have a full blown migraine. I'd get it checked out if I were you (and I probably should too) just to be sure
