feeling sorry for myself...

Just got back from my first appointment with a neurologist and dp's out - so no-one to talk to...

In November I got a headache then some funny symptoms including paralysis which ended up with me being admitted to hospital for 4 days. Since then I've had the paralysis a couple more times, hence today's appointment. The consultant was lovely and thinks it's likely to be an atypical migraine, but is also thinking it could be mild epilepsy. This is something I hadn't even considered - having had a CT to rule out brain tumour, I was thinking it was either TIA or migraine.

Sigh... I'm going to have lots more tests - MRI, Doppler, EEG - and I know it's not the end of the world, but I'm a bit freaked out!

Then he mentioned that the ECG I had in hospital showed up "a couple of minor abnormalities" so the cardiologist wants to see me aswell.

Aarrgghhh - I'm veering into feeling very sorry for myself and worrying there's a fair amount of me that's falling to bits!!

Anyway, that's it - outpouring over!

It's ok you have my permission to feel sorry for yourself. That is all a lot to take in. Be kind to yourself today and best of luck with the tests.

Oh yes - I'm going to be trawling the internet now... Just been on a really good epilepsy site that talks about a link with epilepsy and PCOS - which I've got, but didn't think to tell the neurologist 'cos would never have thought it was relevant!

Sigh. It probably is just a migraine - but the symptoms are now happening without a headache, which is what's making him have doubts.

Ho hum. Just have to have the tests - could take months - and then see him again. At least I'll be getting a good MOT out of all of it!!
