Possibly TMI but .............................

I have had a stomach bug, along with half the country I think!

I had the sickness on Tuesday morning and diarrhea started this morning. What I am wondering though is why am I burping these really smelly burps? They started yesterday and it is really embarrasing as they are so foul smelling.

Anyone any ideas?

its probably because of a bacteria in your gut?

my dh had them along with a d and v bug. really gross.

he didn't eat for 24 hours, has been taking a probiotic since.

Are they like egg? If so it is a particular type of bacteria

LIGHTBULB!!! It was a thread on here a few months back, someone said their ds burps smelled like , what was coming out the other end, and someone had the answer.

I've had this too and it was gross. I find my own farts offensive at the best of times, but when it starts coming out of your mouth OH LORDY!!!

oh, go I have to admit I had exactly this this week, on Wednesday (did I catch it from you??!!) and I had exactly the same thing with the burps! Spooky!

Mine was literally all over in 24 hrs though.

I must have caught it from you as mine only started yesterday.

Dh has only just smelt one and he agrees that they are gross. I have been trying so hard to keep the smell away from everyone but its not easy.

I have started to take acidopholus - hope it works soon.

Sulphurous smelly burps and farts are a sign of giardia which is a nasty parasitical infection, and you need to see your doctor for some medicine to get rid of it. I had this when I went travelling (long long ago now) and it was really horrible. But it is very distinctive, and fairly violent, and I'm not sure that you are very likely to get it in the UK.
