the contraceptive pill and jab are completely effective because when I take them we don't have sex Smile!! i don't really want to swap can anyone advise on any supplements that might help bring it back to normal.

can't help you with the supplements

hormones have that effect on me too and the only way I've found to get things back to normal, is to not use any hormonal contraceptive at all (there are other reasons why I can't use them so sex is not the only factor!)

It's a pretty common side effect of Depo. Don't know if you are planning any more children but it can take a while for fertility to return once you have stopped taking it. You might want to google and have a look at some of the side effects which inc what you are experiencing.

thanks will try that - no not planning anymore so not really too bothered about it taking a long time for fertility to come back

I found the same on the pill - dh had a vasectomy last year so I'm no longer on the pill and things are infinitely better. I feel better in so many ways without hormonal contraceptives.

The Depo removed any sex drive for me, so like you it was extrememly effective but not in the way I had initially thought!!

I ended up being referred to the hospital for tests and they did offer HRT, but said that that was the quick fix and that in itself would imbalance my hormones - best way is to let your body find it's own balance. Have you considered a non-hormonal method of contraception? I know you say you don't want to change, but it might start to affect your relationship.

I wish I had realised what trouble the Depo was going to cause before having the bloody thing!!

This happened to me too, I reckon that's how it works!

I don't use any form of hormonal contraception now, we're relying on condoms, which is risky I know but we're being very careful - and tbh if I did it'd be the immaculate conception anyway!
