Could this be coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity?

Dd1, who has Aspergers, has had chronic constipation for years, she's been on laxatives but still soils and isn't regular. I've recently started giving both her and dd2, who has eczema, goats milk and I did think her poo was less smelly, but she still soils. I had been thinking about cutting out gluten because of her Aspergers and constipation but now I'm wondering if she might have coeliac disease?

Also is it possible I might have it too? I don't have any obvious bowel issues, but my stomach often looks bloated, although I am fairly slim. My aunt asked me afew weeks ago if I was pregnant, which I'm not, and I do sometimes have smelly wind Blush, which dh has commented on. I often feel very tired, especially in the afternoons and get headaches and my brain feels fuzzy. I find it hard to concentrate on anything. I seem to feel hungry a lot and I have to eat frequently or else I feel a bit weak and confused and get headaches.

Why not try giving up the gluten for a fortnight and see if you feel better ( more energy, fewer gut rumblings etc)? Lactose intolerance can cause these symptoms roo and often goes along with gluten intolerance.

It's a bit different with your dcs though. There does seem to be some anecdotal evidence that a dairy free diet can help some kids with ASD. But dairy shouldn't just be eliminated from diet for kids just like that. And it appears to be the protein Casein in milk rather than the sugar, Lactose. With regard to your dcs it's best to get them diagnosed by your GP.
