Extremely painful, aching, stiff legs from below knee?

Does anyone have any clue what could be causing this.I am 47,not overweight etc and am really suffering with this at the mo. Its like a really aching, tired, stiff feeling-sometimes worse in one leg than the other.I get relief if I take the weight off them and elevate them but it is becoming very problematic lately.Inflammatories also relieve it periodically. I do have varicose veins on my legs but they are not severe looking and find it hard to believe that they could cause this level of discomfort?Or could they?I think I will make a dr.appointment next week anyway but I was wondering if anyone else has had this and knows what causes it?

I have had this recently too and was thinking of making a DR's appointment. Mine are not painful but are uncomfortable, tingle and ache. I play sports, bike and walk but thisdoesn't seem to have any bearings on my lower legs. I wondered if it was because of low iron Confused. It is very irritating though.
Best get a proper diagnoses from the DR I suppose.
Good luck.
(sorry, my post isn't very helpful Smile )
