EXTREMELY sensitive gag reflex at the dentists...and I need more treatment

Yesterday I had preliminary treatment for a new crown at the front of my mouth

The dentist used those massive impression trays that he filled with play dough type stuff

As soon as he put it in, I had to sit up because I started gagging so horrendously and violently, it was awful.

He's just told me to have to go back and have it done again .

Any tips from fellow gaggers? I even gag cleaning my teeth

I am a gagger too. I gag til I make myself sick when cleaning my teeth sometimes. It took three attempts to get an impression when I went to have a retainer made.

Now, if I have to go to the dentist, I find rhythmic nose breathing the most effective way of preventing the gag. You'll need to practise to stay calm though!

Good luck.

Thanks for replying! In the end he only wanted to take a mould of my lower choppers. No gagging required....
