Pneumonia and now swollen ankle - related?

Was diagnosed with pneumonia 12 days ago, but am now feeling loads better and have finished both courses of antibiotics. However, this morning my ankle has swollen up and hurts and it also has a slight rash. I have probably just pulled it and the rash might be heat rash (although none on the other foot), but I'm worrying about scepticemia as a complication of pneumonia now. Can anyone reassure me that I am just being neurotic and to stop worrying?

See your doctor, rather than posting here. That's not just a normal thing that needs to be ignored when you're recovering from such a serious illness.

Thanks, I know. Just thought the MN collective intelligence might be able to stop me worrying. Will ring the GP.

The dr was concerned enough to send me off for blood tests and a chest x-ray. She said it's very unlikely to be blood poisoning, but that pneumonia can sometimes lead to complications and it's worth checking. She wants to see me in a week regardless of the results. Am glad I went now.
