I have been giving my children Bassets vitamins A,C,D and E since autumn really and (touch wood) they have been really well and this is from kids that got colds twice a month last year and tummy bugs too!!!

This year they have had just one cold/cough and nothing else!!! I am astounded!!!

Does anyone else give their kids vitamins and have they noticed a difference?

I really do worry in the winter time as my kids are always full of runny nose/hacking coughs and really I was just interested if anyone else believes that these vitamins are actually protecting them against bugs.

TIA.

Ds1 has these too. I don't know if there's any connection but he rarely gets colds (touchwood!) and is generally pretty healthy.

If he goes without them for a few days he seems to look more tired and run-down.

Exactly coppertop, same with mine...

I just cannot believe the poor kids suffered all those years when it was unneccessary - feel like a bad mum now.

Might just be that they had lots of viruses last year and are reaping the benefit with lots of immunity this year CD.

Yeah you are probably right DG.

Thought I might have some miracle cure for tummy bugs and viruses - wishful thinking on my part I know. Grin

Certainly can't do them any harm. I don't actually give mine vitamins but about 4mths ago changed their diet. We eat tonnes of fresh fruit and veg with sprouts and other aloe vera. They have not had any colds so far, which I have found incredible as there always seemed to be one of them coughing at any given time through the winter (have 4).
