What should I do? I feel terrible about caling the doctors. It's a bank holiday. I'm an idiot and I'm always doing this and I feel like they're always angry at me, but I really struggle to keep on top of everything. I take 200mg every night and haven't taken any for the past 2 nights. Starting to feel not quite right now. I do have a repeat prescription, but i won't be able to take it into the doctors til tomorrow and then they take about 2 days to process it. What should I do? I'm feeling all wrong again.

Find an open pharmacy, try a supermarket and take a scrip with you. Explain the situation and they'll process the scrip and loan you a few days worth against it.

If you go to your regular pharmacy then they may be able to give you one or two tablets to tide you over.

But seriously, you must get more organised ; you are messing with your health and if you do end up going to out of hours GP you are using up their valuable time for something which you could have dealt with in normal hours.

I do know depression is hard (I really do) but it is not an excuse for being inept all the time.

Sorry for the lecture.

Either go to your regular pharmacy (if you have one) & explain, they should be able to give you some to tide you over. Or call out of hours doctor, they should be able to fax a prescription to on out of hours pharmacy. If you are starting to feel unwell you need to do something sooner rather than later.

Have done both these in the past when I've run out of meds (anti-D's). My surgery now offers an online repeat prescription request service which makes it much easier.

StarsAreShining · 27/08/2012 15:27

I don't think I'm capable of getting more organised. I can't deal with things and I just want to go to sleep so that everyone will leave me alone. I really am quite shit at being a person.

Sorry you're feeling low. I get my ads ordered automatically from my gp by my local boots. Boots give me a card saying when the next lot will be ready and I put it on the calendar so I remember. Could you do this? I ran out several times in the past before doing this, including one med I got awful withdrawal symptoms from, it was horrid. I'm sure you're not 'shit at being a person', just depressed!

Go to the pharmacy where your last prescription was filled, taking the repeat prescription with you, and they will give you up to 4 tablets to tide you over.

Then, when you get your next prescription, go immediately to your pharmacy and sign up for their repeat prescription service - they will arrange and fill the prescription for you and all you have to do is collect the medicine when it's ready.

amberjane · 27/08/2012 19:33

good idea to get boots or other chemist who offer a pick up and delivery service to arrange this for you perhaps?
Im on a range of mental health and epilepsy drugs plus others and dont drive, this service is a godsend as would be the same, plus they put them in order of time and day so you can keep on top of meds.
Dont beat self up.
