Can the little ones catch Chickenpox at any time of the year or it is when the time of the year?

eg the tummy bug - suddenly everyone had it (iykwim??) as just wondered?

im not sure if the title makes sense!!

they can catch it any time! but of course as a contagious illness it spreads quickly so if there is an outbreak a lot of children will be affected at the same time iyswim?

However it does seem more common at this time of year. My 2 had it in March a couple of years ago and I know it was around this time last year too.

ds had in January, dd in Feburary, so ime it seems to occur more in the winter/early spring.....

When I had it, it was December and my sister had it in July.

13 children are absent with chickenpox from DS's reception class!

My eldest 2 had it in August (right as I was about to give birth - it was wonderful timing, not)

Both mine had it over Christmas (dd1 for the second time as the first time was evry mild)

EVERY child in my old charges nursary had it in October / November...

we were told that was the 'peak season'

ive know of people with it constantly this year.... starting in October and on going (at ALL times) until now!
