Has anyone had an operation on their foot?

Was it successful? Did the scarring interfere with your ability to walk afterwards?

I've got a ruptured tendon in my big toe, whilst its not particularly limiting or painful yet, it is uncomfortable and I'm aware of the ache all the time... I can't bend my big toe down. The surgeon has said he can repair it but the scar MIT make walking more painful afterwards. It might be fine afterward too, he won't know until he goes in.

However if I leave it it could get more painful in later life. So I've got to decide whether to have the op.... Just wanted to find out if anyone had anything similar done and whether it was a success or not.

I'd think it would depend where the scarring is. I've had bunions removed on both feet, and have a 2 inch scar on each foot where the bunion was, plus a 1 inch scar on the top of my foot running down between my big toe and the next one along. All have healed nicely, and none of them rub on shoes at all, or cause any discomfort.

Also it depends how well you heal in general - I know I heal pretty well, so I wasn't especially worried.
