he was diagnosed last month, has had one testicle removed already and has just started chemo on monday, hes in hospital for 5 days, home for 9 days and then back for 5 days more chemo and that carries on for 8 sessions. Only then (mid nov) will they know if it has/is working. He is only 20 but has other problems, he has aspergers and dyspraxia, has a mental age of about 13, but is such a lovely lad.

It has spread to his lungs and he has an 8cm growth in his groin, they keep checking his brain. He has been told its a very aggressive form, but we're not sure how much he understands. The doctor has told him he might not make it Sad what can i do for him now and what can he expect? macmillan nurses have been fab.

I am so sorry to hear about your DSB. What a shock for you all. Cancer is an absolute bastard and you suddenly get thrust into a whole new world you'd actually prefer to know nothing about.

Are your/his parents around? Unfortunately, aggressive cancer in someone so young doesn't always lead to a happy outcome. But, because he is so young I am sure everyone will be doing all they can to make sure he pulls through.

Macmillan are a fantastic organisation. Please make sure you fully engage with them - they will be able to help with everything from pain management, care in hospital and at home, any additional things he needs to make him more comfortable (think occupational health type stuff), paperwork, sorting out DLA, blue badge, etc. (if relevant), grants for new clothing, etc.

I really wish your step brother and you well...am so sorry you are going through this.
