horrid catarrah cough and sore throat help please had enough

basically have always had catarrah
seem to have excess coughing all the time and have sore throat
have had enough now !!
can hear catarrah rattling doesnt come up
taking decongestant tabs and benilyn

any other suggestions

Plenty of water with a pinch of sea salt per glass. Exclude dairy, it's a mucus producer. I suffered quite a bit of congestion and its pretty much disappeared since eliminating cows milk, I have a little goats milk in my tea.

I've heard a salt inhaler works wonders, salt dissolves mucus, sea salt though not table salt.

Do you get hay fever? Coughing is my main symptom.

I have also heard the advice to cut down on dairy and am planning on trying it (started this morning actually)

Robitussin cough medicine is fab. Also put a tsp of vick in a bowl of boiling water then inhale with a towel over your head. Hope you feel better soon.

Don't take decongestants as it thickens the phlegm and make it harder to cough up. The pharmacist told me last time i had a cough .
