10 day period and still going?!

Today I am on day 10 of my period and it still isn't tailing off. This isn't normal for me.

I had a MC In April, prior to this my cycles were regular and not too heavy lasting 5/6 days.
My first period following my MC was 28 days later and lasted 8 days, I expected it to be longer and heavier. My next cycle was 32 days and again the bleeding lasted 8 days.

This month My cycle was 34 days long and I have now been bleeding for 10 days :( the bleeding hasn't been ridiculously heavy but I have been passing clots and even something placenta like - kind of like skin but thicker about 2 inches long? This concerned me a bit as I've never had something like this before.

The doctors aren't concerned and said if I have 3 cycles like this or I'm bleeding excessively then to make an appointment. They said I might need to take the pill to regulate my hormones?

Has anyone had cycles like this following a mc, is it normal or should I be concerned?

I'm lucky in that I've never had to go through a MC but I did have a period once that went on for two weeks. I bled heavily with clots and it showed no sign of stopping. The doctor gave me norethisterone in the end which stopped it.

Don't be fobbed off by the doctors as you shouldn't bleed like you are for too long it's not good for you. You could become anaemic and it's likely you may need iron tablets.

Thanks. I am taking a Multi vitamin with iron so hopefully that will help. I was wondering whether I've had another mc because the clots and placenta-like tissue but as I hadnt tested I'll never know now. I think I'd rather not know if that's the case :)
