Terrible unidentified itch and rash in folds of skin: back of knees, under arms, hands and feet. Any thoughts!

I noticed Thursday my hands were itchy, and that there were a few small white/red bumps. I thought I'd been bitten by small flies. Over the weekend it's spread and got aggrevated, but it's not all over my body. It's mostly in folds of skin: the top of my inner thigh, back of knee, armpit, but also my elbow, hands and to a lesser extent feet.

The bumps are fairly small, but hard, I suspect they would be white rather than red if I could stop itching.

Do anyone have ANY idea what it could be? Can't get doctors app as about to go on work trip today and really worried I'll spend the time itchIng. I've not
Changed washing powders or soap, never had acne. My OH suggested hives, but would they come out in such specific places?

Sorry, meant to say eczema rather than acne!

Try an antihistamine in case it's hives. And hydrocortisone cream if that doesn't work.

It could still be eczema, as it varies widely from person to person, and can come on whether you've had it previously or not.

If you can't get to a doctor, I would suggest speaking to a pharmacist for advice.

Could it be scabies? Picture here

I tried an antihistamine and it didn't do anything, it's not quite as crusty as the scabies picture but it could well be. Will get myself to a pharmacy this morning and ask. Thanks for the replies.

In the folds of skin is classic place for eczema to appear - mine always appears at back of knees first, and I've never worked out what triggers it. Allergy? Stress? Who knows!

If it is eczema, hydrocortisone cream will help although sometimes the stuff you can buy over the counter isn't strong enough.

Thanks everyone: I decided to make an emergency doctors appointment and its scabies. Not overjoyed, esp not as had to pay 120 euro for doctor and treatment as I'm in Ireland at the moment, but at least glad to know I'll be able to get rid of it soon.

Glad you managed to see a Doctor at least now with the right treatment you can get sorted and the itching will stop. Hope you feel better soon.
