Going to maldives this july and need to make sure we take all that we need as no chemists on the islands and dont fancy paying $50 for anti poo meds.

If you can think of anything else tht i can add to the list it would be great.

Factor 50 suntan
after sun
anti poo
anti histermine cream/sting relief
anti histermines
headache tablets
rehydration fluids
indigestion stuff
hand sanistizer

anything else?

probiotics in case of the runs (can help limit the duration)
plasters, crepe bandages and sterile dressings
antiseptic like TCP or Savlon and antiseptic wipes

Get one of those vacuum sting thingys (not sure what you would call them, but you put it over a bite/sting/splinter in your skin and then draw out the plunger creating a vacuum which sucks out the poison, splinet, urchin spine etc).

Also take some anti mosquito cream (citronells ones are good and smell reasonably nice compared to others) When we went I got eaten alive.

chicagomum · 07/03/2006 10:58

That should read "citronella".

jellyjelly · 07/03/2006 11:02

WHERE did you go?

hi jelly, great your going for holiday after you nightmare few months. How the wound?

I would suggest taking a basic first aid kit like tubigrip dressings steristrips iodine dressing etc. pack of antiback wipes for toilets etc.
also canestin or thrush cream, cuase it always happens when you cant get to a chemist!

Gingerbear · 07/03/2006 11:28

tampons/liners/mooncup!
decongestant
'swim-ear' in case you get seawater in your ears.

jellyjelly · 07/03/2006 11:33

Touch and go chaps, things are genereally better putting 6 stone on the leg now and cant wait for the honeymoon, cant come soon enough. Shoudl be off the cruches in another 2 months and lookign forward to that.

There is a doctor on BANDOS

The one who was there when we went was a german lady but with very good english

There is a medical centre on the island and a decompression chamber

I would take an umbrella as that is the wet season

jellyjelly · 07/03/2006 12:09

thanks, will be aware of that, there is a doctor on the island i am going to but the charges for medicines are hideous so want to be prepared.
