I gave up for a year and a half but recently started again because I was so stressed with work.
I hate doing it so am going to stop on Wednesday because its a good place to start.
Does anyone want to join me in the nicotine free struggle or just offer support and advice Smile

Mosschops.

You know you can do it, you have done it before...

And do you remember how bad smokers smell when you aren't one?

It is a hideous fight - when I was in my first week of quitting, I used to occasionally take myself off privately and "Kick the fags" like they do on the advert... lots of shadow boxing and karate chopping. Looked stupid but I felt so much better.

Well I havent had one today, since 8pm last night actually. Have had a few moments where i've almost cracked and felt like screaming.
But so far so good Smile

Well Done you :) :) :) Did you meet any other quitters on your travels today?

Mosschops30 · 08/03/2006 19:14

nope, gave plenty of people jealous looks though as they were puffing away, thinking 'please blow it this way' Wink

charliecat - can I run something by you, since you're doing such a fab job coordinating the stopping smoking threads!
Do you think it would be useful for those trying to quit to see a thread of ex-smokers, how long and how much they used to smoke, how long they've been stopped and what help they received (ie NRT, willpower alone, Allen Carr)
Would be happy to start a thread if you think it would be useful.

charliecat · 08/03/2006 19:20

Yep, go on then :) I found it helpful to ask this question to a long term quitter.how often do you think of fags a day now...
and after a year and a couple of months of not smoking im now down to not even a second a day.
At the beggining of a stressful time it filters into my head and I chase it back out. Thats it.

Okay will go and do it now Smile
