4 year old DS wakes up just about every morning and the very first thing he does is have an explosion on the toilet. He'll probably go again at least once moreduring the day and it's usually the same sort of poo, sorry to be so graphic but it's fairly gooey, sticks to the pan etc.

He does like fruit (mango, grapes, plums, bananas etc but not apples) and all vegetables but I make sure he doesn't over eat anything that i know will go straight through him. He doesn't eat much cereal but we always have wholemeal bread etc.

Any ideas please?

TIA

Has he been on antibiotics recently?

Try him on pro-biotics for a while, you can get it in powdered form from any health food shop. It will re-address the balance in his gut. If this doesn't work after a week or so, take him to the GP.

hate to say this cause I dont want to start a fight, I am not saying gina for is great or anything, but there is a bit in her books about the type of foods you can give at certain times to help avoid middle of the night/early morning bowel motions. Never really used Gina but maybe someone else paid more attention!
