Have just had my blood test results back - please can you help me decipher them?

Am 15 weeks pregnant, and have just had my 12 week blood test results posted to me.

They indicate HIGH for white cells (15 [3.6-9.2]), and HIGH for neutrophils(11.5 [1.7-6.2]), but "normal" for all other readings (can give you specifics if you want)

I did have the start of a sinus infection at that point I think (only got AB's a week or so later) - could this indicate the raised white cells and neutrophils? Google is a very scary place indeed when you are just looking for a bit of reassurance Grin

I would have thought a phone cal would have come in from the doctors/midwives given the two high readings - but nothing?

So tell me please - am I dying? Grin

hello disco, and congratulations on your pregnancy! I am a community midwife. It is common for those results to be raised in pregnancy. The ranges shown are non-pregnant ranges, so don't be surprised if yours fall outside of this, because pregnancy does weird stuff to your body. They are a little bit higher than usual pregnancy ranges, but only very very slightly. They are infection indicators, so if you had an infection at that point it would probably explain it. If a letter has been sent to you with the results on that suggests to me that someone's looked at it and not been concerned. TBH I wouldn't be concerned if you were my client. You're not dying. I assume you're seeing your midwife soon for your 16 week check anyway so I'm sure she'll put your mind at ease.

Stop asking Dr Google stuff, ask MN instead. Wink

thankyou whatinthewhatnow Smile

My midwife is away for the next 2 weeks so I'm seeing her slightly later than 16 weeks, and it is very nice to know that I will still be alive at that point.
