We didn't even have taps!

Well we did but only in toilets and they were disgusting so I never used them!

Hulababy · 03/03/2006 22:08

Most schools I know don't have drinking water taps//fountains for children. Many don't even have them for staff!

sparklymieow · 03/03/2006 22:17

good, Ds' school has water fountains, and they are only allowed water or milk to drink, which I think is great.

sparklymieow · 03/03/2006 22:19

Also my kids are not allowed coke because it makes them hyper so if they could get cans of fizzy from a vending machine, I would be very annoyed.

MerlinsBeard · 03/03/2006 22:30

sure;y by coca cola threatening to remove its machines they are doing what the government want anyway? unless i read it wrong!

Caligula · 03/03/2006 22:31

They don't have drinking water? What sort of bizarre places are they? Shock

Hulababy · 03/03/2006 22:32

Only water access is the taps in the toilets Shock

As a teacher I hated not being able to get a glass of water.

At DD's school where she starts in September all the children have a bottle of water on hand at all times.

paolosgirl · 03/03/2006 22:57

Goodbye Coca Cola, good riddance, and shut the door on your way out, please.

Tosspots.

edam · 03/03/2006 23:07

what paolosgirl said.

JanH · 03/03/2006 23:08

I believe that you can get \link{http://www.appletiser.co.uk/\Appletiser} from coke machines - so my DSs have assured me (I don't think they buy it though!)

blondehelen · 03/03/2006 23:19

my dh works for coca cola Blush (runs)

paolosgirl · 03/03/2006 23:32

The shame, Blondehelen, the shame! Grin

hunkermunker · 04/03/2006 13:19

The scary thing is this quote from Pruni's link to the marvellous Onion website (Pruni, have almost PMSL reading this)

"According to Coca-Cola CEO Douglas Daft, the company plans to establish a massive distribution infrastructure to bring Coke Mandatory directly to the consumer."

That's actually very like what Coca-Cola have actually said - they're a parody of themselves! This article was written in October 2001...!

hunkermunker · 04/03/2006 13:20

Didn't Appletiser used to be called Appletise?

pashmina · 04/03/2006 13:46

get the vending machines out of schools - kids should drink water, and schools should have water fountains, water coolers and a policy of only allowing ater in clear bottles to be brought in to school...the only way to drink coke is with a large bacardi in it (for adults only, of course!)

NomDePlume · 04/03/2006 13:57

The vending machines were removed from DS1 & DS2's secondary school halfway through the last school year.

paolosgirl · 04/03/2006 13:58

DH has just told me that this only applies to England and Wales...anyone else know? If so, I feel (another) ranting letter to the Scottish Exec. coming on...

Nbg · 04/03/2006 14:00

Pmsl @ "children would suffer"
