pleurisy whinge

to carry on from the horrible fluey cough virus thing I had three weeks ago the bad chest I've had ever since has now developed in what's probably pneumonia and pleurisy. :( How long does pleurisy last? Someone please tell me it'll go away quickly because it really hurts. :( (Told you it was a whinge)
My GP has put me on double dose antibiotics and high dose oral steroids for 8 days and has said I'll have to be admitted to hospital if it gets worse.
I'm so fed up. Effing virus.

c'mon, nobody else here has sampled the joys of pleurisy?

Sorry haven't had the pleasure, but I'm sure someone will come along soon. you poor thing, when did your antibitics and steroids begin? I presume they will need a couple of days to kick in????

I had it when I was 7 months pregnant Can't remember how long it lasted but think it was probably only about 2 weeks - flippin' hurts though - sympathy

Must have been grim to have it during pregnancy when you're all squashed up in there anyway. :(

Couldn't take any steroids though, & could only have certain antibiotics so not optimum treatment. Hopefully you'll be able to shake yours off a lot quicker.
