Conjunctivitis.What can I do?

I think both the dd's are getting conjunctivitis. They have gunky eyes & one of dd1's eyes is a bit bloodshot,so I'm sure it is.Are there any home remedies that will relieve the itching?MIL thinks that cold tea might help, but isn't sure if it is normal tea or camomile.

Has anyone got any tips?
Thanks from an itchy eyed mirage.

I just bathe dd's eyes in cooled boiled water every now and then, and try if she'll let me to dab a little moisturiser on skin that looks sore around eye.
If it doesn't clear of own accord, then i have used drops prescribed from GP - the ones you can buy over the counter are pretty rubbish.

Don't suppose you are breastfeeding are you? cos have heard that breast milk is good for it Smile

the other thing you can try is chamomile tea - cooled.

DD had it last week and I had it this week.

I would take them to the GPs straight away. I took DD at the first sign and she was given drops. Within a day of using them her eyes were cleared.

I didn't get to go to GP quite as quick with mine and, despite hourly drops since, day 3 and my eyes are stils sticky although not quite as sore.

And be very careful. It is very contagious. I thought I had been very careful sorting DD but obviosuly not.

Breastmilk squirted in the eye, if you are able! Sounds delightful ...
