She is 4 and is lying on the bed screaming and saying her bits are 'dribbling'. There is nothing I can see.
Should I ring the doc?

UTI?Take her to the doctors .Does she have any other symptoms?

Chandra · 02/03/2006 18:08

I would, it may be an infection in the urinary tract (not difficult to treat though)

Not sure about the "dribbling".

Have you tried NHS direct?

Flip · 02/03/2006 18:08

It could be worms. Very itchy and worse at nights. Is your GP surgery still open? See if you can speak to a nurse or try NHS direct.

she was really ill last week with bronchitis, tonsilitis and conjunctivitis
Since then she has been really really tired. She took herself off for a sleep this afternoon which she hasn't done since she was 2

I can't see any worms

has she had antibiotics for her illnesses? if so, could be thrush. get some probiotic yoghurt down her...

Yorkiegirl · 02/03/2006 18:11

there is no evidence of thrush and she says it isnt itching but 'dribbling'

Cystitis type infections can give weird sensations like that

Yorkiegirl · 02/03/2006 18:14

should I ring the docs then?

OP posts:

i would. thrush isn't always white discharge

sunchowder · 02/03/2006 18:18

Yorkiewhile you are waiting for an appointment, you can give her an oatmeal bath to soothe her. If you have Aveeno Oatmeal bath, that is great. I believe that Twig mentioned that you could put oatmeal into a stocking and run the bath faucet over it while you are filling the bath if you don't have Aveeno. I would take her to the doctors as soon as you can thoughespecially if she never complains. If she has been on antibiotics it could be a yeast infection, but the doctor will know best.

Blu · 02/03/2006 18:23

and what is it you drink to ease cystitis / uti? Lemon Barley water? cranberry? Bicarb?

bundle · 02/03/2006 18:28

cranberry

Yorkiegirl · 02/03/2006 20:33

she has gone to sleep now. Will ring the docs in the morning unless she is up in the night.

I hope she sleeps through for you Yorkie. It might hurt more when she has to pee. Hope you can get into the doctors for tomorrow then.
