Would you keep dd/ds off?

ok, i've already made a decision not to send dd to bursery today. I've only been back at work for 3 weeks but dd has had a high temp since last Saturday with a bad cold and, I think, a sore throat. She's 10 months. She's seen a gp twice and they say it's viral.

I thought she was getting better last night but this morning she woke up with a temperature of 39 again and you couldn't see her nostrils she was so bunged up poor thing. Well, i've given her calpol again, she's been on that and nurofen since Saturday and she's chirpy again.

She loves nursery and tbh it's nice being at work for a couple of days too but I don't think it's fair on her or the other children to send her in but when she's happy as she is now, i'm not sure.

What would the rest of you do?

I w oudl not send her with a temp of 39

DelGirl · 02/03/2006 08:22

her temp has come down now to 37.8 but I know you're right, I just don't want to be overly protective if it's just a cold iykwim, I get anxious easily and I don't want to be.

btw, is that Beetroot in disguise?

del, I wouldn't send her - though her temp is down, she probably wouldn't cope with a busy day at Nursery, would be very tiring for her and might stop her recovering as quickly as she might - nice restful day with mum is probably what the doctor ordered! Also I found with my DS mornings were OK once he was dosed up but as the day wore on he felt iller.

Just spoken to my boss and I may just do a half day but will see how she is 1st. I might go when she's due for a nap and then she'll only be playing for a couple of hours which she would do at home anyway. Guilty mother feeling descending on me Sad
