Anyone’s DH /P been circumcised as an adult?

I'm hoping someone will be able to give some insight on a man being circumcised later in life, my DH has an overly tight fore skin and it?s bothered him for years. He's finally seen a GP and then a urologist who have both recommended circumcision.

Just hoping some of you male mumsnetters or Dh?s have some advice or experience on this as it's a really hard decision for DH to make, he's got to 38 with some minimal inconvenience from it, but thinks it's probably the right thing to do, but he's really worried.

PS I can't get him to talk to any male family members about it, so he has no other source of advice other than the internet.

(Just to be clear, DH is 38 and don't want to debate the rights or wrongs of baby circumcision Smile)

Yes at a similar age to your dh, maybe a few years younger, for very similar reasons.

Was very simple procedure. Sorted the problem although the extra sensitivity was something he had to get used to.

Walked a bit like a cowboy for a couple of days.

What's he worried about in particular? XDH had to have his done at about the same age for similar reasons. Like Wizard says, he was pretty sore for a few days and had to avoid getting a stiffie for 3 weeks but otherwise was fine. I can't remember him mentioning any difference in sensation during sex afterwards but I didn't notice any difference.

what's he worried about ???Hmm

he's worried it'll hurt, it'll feel funny, sex won't be the same, it'll be less sensitive, more sensitive, that he'll get an infection from surgery, operation will go wrong, etc....

Mainly though, he's never had an infection, sex is great Wink and he's worried he's doing something that doesn't need doing if you see what I mean. The reverse is he's always felt it wasn't right and hurts in certain circumstances, but nothing major.

Yes it will hurt, but not for ever!
It will feel different but still good :)
Tight shorts rather than lose boxers helped the post op healing
It's worth getting it done but you need to have a good cover story if people ask. They will assume he's having the snip and might be suprised and shocked if you then bpget pregnant
These are things DH learnt

thanks for all the responses so far. Any men on here with a perspective? Don't mind being pm'ed if you don't want to put the issue on a public forum.

DH felt that his penis was less senisitve during sex but he had problems with the foreskin in that department anyway so it was worth it.

The level of pain was nothing like when he had the snip a few years later...nothing like!
