questions on Periods, the pill and feeling pretty miserable

I'm feeling pretty rough, so am going to pour out some stuff, so that you can tell me I need to see a Doctor at the end of it, ok? Cheers - would love to hear opinions.

After having dd (who is now 11 months - 1 year old at the end of July!) I went on the mini pill and despite exclusively breastfeeding I had a period at 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks postnatally, they all lasted 4/5 days and were no problem (no pain, medium flow)

They then disappeared again, but as I wasn't pregnant put it down to her feeding without nipple shields etc.

My periods came back on the 22nd May, I marked it on the calendar -and I had a continuous bleed untill around the 26th of june or something like that - Some days heavier than others, some days red somedays brown - no pattern at all, lots of painful cramps and pmt feelings.

Just had a blissful few days without any bleeding (say untill the end of june), but this last week have been on the heaviest most painful period EVER!. pre pregnancy I was on the mini pill, and had never had period pains. This is awful, I want to kill someone, and can't bear to think that I have to live like this forever. I'm feeling pretty depressed and stressed at the moment anyway, so this is just the cherry on the cake. I've been taking amitriptaline (sp?) for migraines, but ran out this week and have been feeling awful since, not got time to pick up a prescription till the weekend - not sure if I'm feeling crap because of withdrawal symptoms (if you get those on amitrip?)

I'm still on the mini pill, so aware that maybe if I change to another pill it might help? although as I'm still breastfeeding my choices are limited. Also, I think that excess oestrogen is to blame for the pain/heavyness so mini pill is still my best bet?

Please- what can I do! I want normal, pain free regular periods.. or none at all again, that was fun!

Thank you for reading through my rambling.
