Baby is 5 months old not yet had period??

I gave birth 5 months ago. I breastfed for 3 months with 1 evening bottle and from 4 months I have bottle fed. My daughter nurses before every nap and first thing in the morning (so approx 4 - 5 times a day) and I know milk comes out as I see it in the shields.

Could this be why my period hasn't yet come?

I am having progesterone and thyroid levels checked.

Possibly yes. I had no periods for 7, 9 and 4 months after birth each time (and bf them for 7, 6 & 9 months) so it is variable.

Yes, if you're breastfeeding it's normal to have no period, potentially for well over a year (also normal to start ovulating/menstruating regularly again right from the first mobth; there's a big range of "normal" here) - although as you're mixed feeding it would be unusual for it to take that long.

It took a couple of months after I had fininshed BFing for my periods to return after each of my pregnancies.

I fed DD until she was past her 3rd birthday. Didn't get my period back until she was well past her 2nd birthday.

All true but don't rely on it for contraception my ds was conceived while I was bf dd2 I didn't have a period .

my baby is 11 months will be 12 in the 28 of this month and no period yet, so no worries

I blooming hope not at that age lol. seriously it can take time I wouldnt worry too much.

My baby is 8 months and i haven't had a period yet. It was the same last time. Don't worry.
But as others have said don't rely on it for contraception, my friend got pregnant that way!
