oh dear ...was hoping someone knowledgeable might come along .
Poor you .
The only thing I can think of is something to help you sleep /relax the muscles ?
Short term diaziepam is sometimes used for that .

Hopefully GP will be able to suggest something .

How are you now, OneArmed?

gingeroots · 04/07/2012 11:21

just thinking - I've heard that diclonfenac can take a few doses to build up in your system and become fully effective .

OneArmedBandit · 04/07/2012 12:05

hi. am ok but i am not sure i can manage pain wise til 4pm when i can next take paracetemol. i think the diclofenec is giving me diarrhoeia.

ok.... dr has just rung. i am getting tramadol for the night time.

i also think codydromol is making me fuzzy so will stop taking it.

Hi op,

I had the same surgery as you a couple of years back.

What helped me was solpadol, ibuprofen and alternating ice and heat.

Diclofenac can upset your tummy but you need an anti inflammatory, so possibly ask for mefenamic acid. I can no longer take diclofenac, so take the mef acid instead, also, you could ask for some omeprazole to protect your tummy from the drugs.

I feel your pain Smile

hi mummy, just started another thread but wanted to stop by and thank you for your post. 7 days on and the nights are still grim.

i will google solpadol. i am now on dihydracodeine , ibuprofen and paracetemol but its not helping much.

no one has suggested heat... only ice. who advised that to you?

have more questions if youre about!

I have frozen shoulder and osteopath recommended ice ,but said if it helped pain to alternate heat and ice .
Always finish with ice .
TBH reading your threads I think you should ring hospital - consultant's secretary ,and explain about pain .

Putthatbookdown · 09/07/2012 20:24

Ithink it all sounds awful People should be kept in hospital until it is all under control Care?
