And I don't know why. Just received a generalised letter to all her patients that "an investigation is taking place". I have confirmed this on the GMC website, her status is suspended. Ive already had my surgery with her but what about subsequent appointments etc? I really want to know what's happened!

The suspension will be pending an investigation so it's not certain. It will no doubt turn up in some way in your local newspaper/website if any volume of patients is affected. Your appointments will just be passed to another consultant.

She is head of a tertiary referral unit and an honorary lecturer so reckon it'll be quite well documented.

Hi OhEmGee24 I have recently discovered my Consultant has been suspended too but I have not had a letter or been told by anyone. When she didn't reply to my phone calls and emails I became suspicious and checked the GMC website. I have had a lot of complication since she did my surgery 5 months ago and now I need to go for another op. Was your Consultant based in St George's Hospital by any chance?
