I'm at the end of my tether with DS refusing to eat, and he's so thin he looks like a POW and doesn't even register on the centiles anymore... if anything different happens (like the arrival of DD, a cold etc) he starts refusing to eat. We just started the dreaded potty training and predictably he's completely refusing food (except for a little yoghurt and honey this morning, thank god!) I've tried him on an old slim-fast shake Blush which I had when PG because I had hyperemesis and couldn't eat.... but as he usually doesn't have anything sweetened he thought it was digusting... are there any for kids? Where can I get them? He needs some kind of nourishment!

Runs to stick him on the potty!

fastasleep... defo no dreaded sugary thing... those nasties are special treats or should I say bribes and rewards... at least in my household

bear one thing in mind... I learned with dd... what it really is about is ... power :) The power to drive you up the wall, make you tear your hair out, make you doubt you're fit to be a parent etc. Power being excerted by lo's!

Once I stopped being exasperated about dd not eating she had no leverage... oh I'm such a mean mother! Grin

Was the same with potty training btw. Had 'issues' for ages because she wouldn't go no. 2 in potty but once I gave up 'fighting' she went on the potty...

They are clever little manipulators our kids.

Gave up potty training, waiting until he's old enough to tell me (in words and sentences lol) that he wants to be out of nappies!

He's still not eating though... argh! Driving me up the wall MBD I agree with you completely, the little bugger! This morning I've managed to get about three dessert spoons of porridge down him and 100ml of coconut milk (DH's good idea, as it's just pure fat!)

Why are kids so...annoying?!

fastasleep I just remembered when ds1 wasn't eating properly, dh said to add condensed milk to anything I could to up the fat content.

Also I would fry fish fingers in olive oil instead of grilling.
