then I perk right up and don't feel sleepy at bedtime? Too many carbs, low blood sugar?

Don't know, but I have the same thing, but if I go to be at 8, I wake during the night and find it hard to get back to sleep.

ProcrastinateWildly · 25/06/2012 20:26

bed not be

happyAvocado · 25/06/2012 20:27

early start perhaps?

can you afford 15 min nap?

Yama · 25/06/2012 20:30

Me too. I guess adrenalin keeps you going until you don't have to and wham! exhaustion hits.

Antidote · 25/06/2012 20:30

Pregnant?

That was me in 1st trimester!

FartBlossom · 25/06/2012 20:33

Im also tired those times too.

I bloody better not be pregnant, but then again I've always been like this so probably not me.

Derklugehans · 25/06/2012 20:34

Me too.

IHeartKingThistle · 25/06/2012 20:36

Me too! Started when pregnant and now can't switch back!

isw · 25/06/2012 20:41

Dehydrated? I drink water in the morning, then kind of forget as the day goes on. Have to remember to drink early evening or get very grumpy but can't sleep.

FartBlossom · 25/06/2012 21:03

ooh good idea isw I might think about that theory and test it tomorrow.

reikizen · 25/06/2012 21:06

christ, I hope I'm not pregnant Grin. Dehydration could be an interesting theory as I do forget to drink later on in the day. I do get up early (5.30-6.00) and hit the day at full tilt so I think it could also be that adrenaline keeps me going til I've finished work and collected the children then WHAM. And that's the hard bit of the day with small children isn't it? But now, it's 9pm and I feel absolutely fine!

I think that after 8 you are then "overtired" and your body gets shots of adrenaline which keep you awake (thats what my reading up on why my daughter doesn't sleep led me to believe anyway!).

RubberDuck · 25/06/2012 21:09

When do you eat? I notice a huge upsurge in energy about half hour after dinner - could just be that you need to add a healthy snack in at some point in the afternoon to keep going?

treadonthecracks · 25/06/2012 21:28

Me too. I sort of perk up after a little sit down.

We need to sit down fora bit earlier in the evening?

How? I wish I knew.

JaffaSnaffle · 25/06/2012 21:33

Do you drink any caffeine, and at what time of day? I was much better after I knocked out all caffeine after lunchtime.

Do you do any exercise at all?

mercibucket · 25/06/2012 21:49

Maybe underactive thyroid? Mind you, it's a pretty hard time of day at the best of times! It was one of my symptoms though, along with waking up in the middle of the night
