we use bioforce ivy-thyme drops (add to milk or juice)
and spoonfuls of manuka honey
works a treat everytime ds gets a cough, and works on any type of cough.

there are some homeopathic remedies you can use.
think aconite is one...

papaya · 26/02/2006 21:07

hmmmm, now i have just found a website that says just half the adult dose for children! DO you think its ok to give 13mo old? thanks for your help

we used away at it at 1 yr old.
But obviously lots of people will wait until age 2, I can only give my opinion!

bioforce used to say "half adult dose" on all of their remedies that were suitable for children, if you read any of Jan DeVries books they all say that.

A few years ago they had to change the label to say "over 2yrs" due to new EU laws. they say that Because someone under 2 cannot speak, you should not treat them with herbal remedies at home without talking to GP first (in case you miss something serious)...if all that nakes sense!

(I own a health shop and am a nutritionist) and we have used lots of bioforce remedies from a few months old. our children are 2 and 4 and have never had antibiotics and rarely needed to see GP. I'm fairly sure its due tp the various herbal remedies they get.

if you need any more help just ask.

one cube of her fav jelly dissolved in hot water will coat and soothe. Wll work better tahn most cough remidies.

Dig out your steam sterilisot and fill it half full of water leave it on, well out of reach. Alternitavily dry your washing in her room or leave damp towles over the radiator.
